 58 Viking on the move. This hallmark boat changed everything for Viking. How? Here is how, The newest and largest of their fleet when this boat came out in 1994, brought you a custom boat built on a production line with the same quality to each customers. Viking decided it needed to beat the competition and make a better boat. How?
First the 58 Viking hull shape changed so that the boat could achieve faster speeds with a smoother ride in both following seas as wells as straight on the bow. The bow section changed to a sharper entry as well as more flair for a dryer ride.
The aft sections especially under the bottom were resurfaced for more lifting and better handling while cornering with still giving you a 165 square feet of cockpit. Okay, but what makes it different from past Viking boats?
The priority composite layup using AME 4000 Modified epoxy resin, which gave the boat much stronger hull sections to withstand rough seas at high speeds when most boats tend to flex under this stress.
Viking continued with Steel I beam engine beds and a built in composite fuel cell low in the hull.
Next came the Man 2842 engines, putting out 1200hp per engine and weighing less by over two tons compared to the Detroit Diesel. Stronger, Lighter, Faster. Super boat!
How Fast ? 36knots wide open with a 30 knot cruise speed. This put Viking head to head with all custom made sport fishing convertibles and left Hatteras and Bertram trying to catch up.
Viking has built just over a 100 58 convertible / sport fish boats and is their most successful model to date.
The 58 Viking interior space gives you a Three stateroom Three head design. All ensuite, meaning lots of privacy for every one.
The Master Stateroom is giving you a full size bed with walk around space on each side. VIP stateroom is forward with a space due to the increase in bow space. There is a Washer / Dryer along with the third stateroom to Starboard side with bunks and perfect for crew.
The interior Teak high gloss woodwork will dazzle you and make you forget you are in a sport fishing boat.
When you enter the Solon you will find a large L lounge with a Galley up design which gives you an open layout with lots of counter space.
Lots of amities includes large flat screen TV entertainment center, A dinette for 4-6 people. Quadruple refrigerator/freezer drawers under the counter.
